This page describes a test method. Verified device performance results and user testimonials have not yet been published.
Record the starting conditions
Record the phone model, Android and goGPS versions, date, recording mode, quality/FPS, screen state, charging state, battery percentage and free storage. Repeat with the same settings.
Video and storage test
With the phone stationary, record for 10 minutes and measure elapsed time separately. Open all video segments and add their sizes. Record starting/ending battery, temperature if shown by the app, and interruptions. The free plan must have enough daily time remaining.
Offline GPS test
Download the map first. Keep Location on and turn off Wi-Fi and mobile data. Record a short five-minute walk outdoors. Note whether a route and GPS points appear under the right date. This does not separately validate routing data needed for offline navigation.
Open the backup file
Restore internet access. Enable Drive integration and wait for the short recording to upload. Open it from Drive and check size and playback. Do not count time spent offline as upload delay.
Interpreting results
One measurement does not represent every phone. Repeat at least three times under the same conditions and keep each result. MB/minute equals total file size divided by actual recording minutes. Do not compare battery drain while charging; identify whether temperature refers to the battery or another sensor.
The template contains blank measurement fields, not sample results. Open the CSV in a spreadsheet and add a row for each repeat.
