How do offline maps work?
goGPS Drive stores OpenStreetMap-based map files on your phone. Download the country or region while connected, then open it offline. The GPS receiver determines your position; the downloaded map provides its visual context.
What can you see on the map?
View your current location, GPS history and a selected day’s route. Zoom, location centring, a compass, night view and saved places help you explore. You can also open GPX and KML route files.
Downloads and storage
Download the correct region and test it offline before travelling. File size depends on coverage, so leave enough free storage. Updating a map or downloading another region requires internet access.
Maps and navigation are different
A map displays an area. Turn-by-turn route calculation also needs the appropriate offline routing data. Live traffic and current online place information are not included in a downloaded map.
How to get started
- Download your region from the map section.
- Grant Android location permission and enable location services.
- Turn off internet access and test the map and location before travelling.
